At Rubicon 3, we are committed to ensuring that all our crew eat as well as possible and so we do our best to ensure meal plans that cater to a variety of dietary preferences and needs. However, given the unique nature of our sailing trips and the limitations that come with provisioning in remote or varied locations, we do need your understanding and as much flexibility as possible regarding dietary accommodations.
Vegetarian and Pescatarian Diets: We can accommodate vegetarian and pescatarian diets on board. There may be occasional meals where you have to eat around the edges or cook up some pasta, but many customers now are vegetarian or pescatarian.
Vegan Diets: We can – just – accommodate vegan diets, but please be aware that this is much harder and requires a great deal of additional planning and resources. The variety and availability of vegan provisions can be really limited based on our locations and sailing conditions.
Gluten-Free Diets: Gluten-free diets can usually be accommodated on our trips. Due to the constraints of provisioning in diverse locations, we ask for your understanding if options are sometimes limited and encourage you to bring some of your own supplies.
Other Dietary Requirements: For any dietary requirements beyond vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, and gluten-free, please contact us directly to discuss your needs. Anything beyond the diets mentioned above may prove too complex to accommodate, but we are willing to explore all options and discuss potential solutions.
Flexibility: Whatever your requirements, you need to be as flexible as possible regarding dietary needs. Provisioning remotely and cooking at sea can be major challenges and the spirit of adventure sailing involves embracing the unexpected, and sometimes this extends to meal provisions! If you are a fussy eater, these adventures will not be for you.
